North Bay Watershed Association Conference

Post Date 2/17/26: On April 9, the North Bay Watershed Association will hold its biennial conference at the College of Marin’s Jonas Center. This year’s theme is “Meeting this Moment in a Climate of Change,” and sessions will explore climate extremes, rising seas, shifting regulations, and aging infrastructure, and how collaboration and creativity can help us meet this moment together. Tickets are $150. Scholarships available, apply by March 31. Register here.

Transforming Shorelines Collaborative Workshop

Post Date 2/17/26: Are you working on a sea level rise project? On March 5, the San Francisco Estuary Partnership’s Transforming Shorelines Collaborative is hosting a workshop on engaging elected officials to advance shoreline resilience projects. Hear from Save the Bay staff and a guest official, and practice advocacy techniques in breakout sessions. Register here.

Submit a Public Comment on Plastics Monitoring Strategy

Post Date 2/17/26: The San Francisco Estuary Institute and the Ocean Protection Council have developed a draft Statewide Plastics Monitoring Strategy and Planning Framework to provide a roadmap to monitor both macroplastics and microplastics across California’s freshwater, estuarine, and marine ecosystems. SFEI and OPC are requesting feedback on the draft document. Submit your public comment here by March 11.

There will also be an opportunity to provide public comments at a webinar on February 25 from 10 to 11:30 am. Register for the webinar here.

Book a Climate Science Field Trip in San Mateo

Post Date 9/26/25:  Are you a teacher looking to engage your students in climate change issues and local solutions? The Youth Exploring Climate Science field trip program is now accepting bookings for the 2025-26 academic year! The San Mateo Sustainability Department offers field trips for 7th to 12th graders that focus on three areas: wildfire mitigation, sea level rise adaptation, and biodiversity protection.
