EVERLANE

Clothing

The ability to order new, cheap textiles right to one’s door fosters the ever growing cycle known as fast fashion. While convenient and occasionally necessary, this problematic habit is one of many factors that help make up the fashion industry’s 10% contribution to global carbon emissions. Everlane clothing company has made it their mission to reduce their impact upon the planet and set an example for their industry by eliminating virgin plastics from their supply chain and switching entirely to certified organic cotton. For one of their most important initiatives, they have acknowledged the environmentally destructive nature of fast fashion and have decided to promote customer investment into pieces that will last in one’s closet, rather than satisfy a yearly trend.

Everlane advertises itself as having: “exceptional quality, ethical factories, and radical transparency.”  The operation has a store and headquarters in San Francisco, another store in Palo Alto, and a factory in Los Angeles, among other outlets.
