Acterra

Acterra is a nonprofit based in Palo Alto that brings people together to work for local climate solutions. While officially established in 2000, its origins trace back to 1970 when the Peninsula Conservation Center Foundation was founded as a hub for environmental organizations. Today, Acterra promotes electrification and educates communities on climate issues, especially sustainable food systems.

“As kids become more aware of the environmental impact of the decisions of themselves and their families, they’re getting involved in the conversation, and I think their voice is really, really critical.”
