How Can I Get Clean, Green, Climate-Forward Job Training in the Bay Area?
With so many barriers to entering the green-jobs space, here is a (non-exhaustive) list of regenerative job training, internships, apprenticeships, and fellowships in the Bay Area that pay you for your work and learning.
Of course there are many more opportunities for youth to develop environmental literacy and job skills through local school districts and other state and local educational programs, many of which are unpaid.
North Bay
All Hands Ecology offers a paid Prescribed Fire Apprenticeship and a paid Stewardship Apprenticeship for early career professionals. The programs aim to reduce barriers to entry in the conservation fields paid skills training, and does not require previous experience in a related field.

Civicorps provides training for youth ages 18-26 in conservation and recycling careers, while supporting high school completion and preparation for college and apprenticeships. Depending on their track, trainees will work on a variety of projects such as habitat restoration, trail construction, wildfire mitigation, curb-side recycling collection, and used oil and tire processing, and leave the program with a variety of certifications. Civicorps also offers other resources including housing and childcare referrals, transportation support, and counseling.
